What is The Design Void?
The Design Void is a new searchable map where Architects, Designers & Makers can upload their work, info and links to be contacted by those in need of their services.
Who is it for?
TDV is for two types of users: those offering designer/maker services, and those seeking those services. From freelancers to larger established design studios, we hope the site can become the go to destination for businesses and individuals looking to find real local creative professionals for both residential and commercial projects.
The Design Void was created to fill in the real void that currently exists when trying to find local architects, designers + makers. We wanted to create one simple place where people could search by creative type / location and easily be able to view different studios work + info. We firmly belive more smal businesses can thrive when enlisting the help of local creative professionals. Better spaces drive business by best representing the product, making the most of the space, and creating an experience customers want to repeat and talk about.
Which creative types are on the site?
Designers + Makers are allowed to select up to three types when joining and may also enter their own. There are currently 16 types to choose from: Architect, Interior Designer, Landscape Architect, Architectural Rendering, Web Designer, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Photographer, Merchandiser, Artist, Builder, Design/Build, Woodworker, Metalworker, Stonemason, and General Contractor.
Is the site free to use?
The Design Void is now free to search and contact designers! Creating a search-only profile is also free, and allows you to establish favorites. For Designers & Makers to put their profile/work on the map there is a $5 monthly fee after a 3-month free trial. No payment info is required during the trial period.

What's coming next?
We’re working hard on a number of site updates to further refine the map, and make finding and contacting designers easier. Additionally, we are in the process of searching for art and design non-profits to collaborate with, suggestions welcome and encouraged!
